Campus River restoration

To mitigate the destructive effects of heavy rainfall, the Campus River has been undergoing a restoration process to improve water flow. The first phase of the effort involved repairing and replacing the stones and masonry that guides the water flow of the river. The second phase restores vegetation for erosion control and to provide habitats for wildlife.

Sustainable water management features

Rain gardens and retention ponds

Campus features several rain gardens and retention ponds that collect and filter rainwater, thus reducing stormwater runoff.

Low-flow fixtures

Buildings have significantly reduced potable water use through the installation of dual flush toilets, low flow sinks, low flow showers, low flow urinals, and ultra low flow lavatories.

Stormwater management

Other green infrastructure utilized for stormwater management include drainage basins, impervious surfaces, and curb cuts.
