Jessica has been the Director of IUPUI Sustainability since June 2015; in August 2022, she was appointed Interim University Director of Sustainability at Indiana University, a position that leads sustainability for all IU campuses.
As the director of sustainability, she provides leadership and acts as an organizational strategist for sustainability, collaborating across the campus community to integrate sustainability into curriculum, research, and operations to promote an instinctive culture of sustainability at IUPUI, in Indianapolis, and beyond.
Jessica has received state and national recognition for her sustainability efforts and expertise. Most notably, she was named Women in Green Leadership Sheroe by the USGBC East North Central Region; Indiana Recycling Rock Star by Circular Indiana; Hoosier Resilience Hero by the IU Environmental Resilience Institute; and Environmental Innovator of the Year by the Green Sports Alliance.
A native Hoosier, Jessica holds a BS in Biology from Marian University, MS in Ecology from tthe University of Dayton, and MPA in Urban Sustainability from IUPUI’s O’Neill School of Public and Environmental Affairs.
